Start with the quick cleanups: Promotions, Social and unread mail older than 6 months are usually most of the volume and none of the value. Then open the Senders view and delete or unsubscribe from the top senders. Ten minutes is usually enough for an inbox of 50,000 emails.
Use "Everything older than 1 year" to clear the backlog while keeping starred and important mail, then archive the rest per sender. Archiving removes messages from the inbox but keeps them searchable under All Mail.
Open the Clean up panel, choose Quick cleanups, and click Delete all on the Promotions card. It moves every message in the Promotions category to Trash, not only the 50 on screen.
Yes. Write an AI rule, check the preview, and choose a schedule. It then runs as an automation in GPT Workspace, which you can pause or delete from Settings.
Scanning, deleting and unsubscribing never involve an AI model. Only the AI rules send your instruction text to a model to build the Gmail search. Your emails themselves are not sent.
