A "Show original colours" button above each darkened email shows it exactly as designed, and "Show dark" switches back. Sent, forwarded and printed mail is never changed.

Install the free GPT Workspace Chrome extension, open Gmail, click the moon button in the toolbar above the message list and choose "Full dark, including emails". Alt+Shift+D toggles it later.
No. The darkening is a stylesheet in your browser. Emails you write, reply to, forward or print go out exactly as before. The compose editor is only darkened on screen.

No. Dark mode is a local setting of the extension. It works without signing in to GPT Workspace and uses no AI credits.
