How do I convert Markdown to PDF for free?
Paste your Markdown into the editor above or drop a .md file, then click Download PDF. Your browser opens its print dialog; choose Save as PDF as the destination and confirm. The whole conversion happens on your device.
Why does the tool use the print dialog?
The print engine of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari produces an accurate PDF with selectable text, working links and correct page breaks, without sending your file to a server. Pick Save as PDF as the printer and the result is a regular PDF file.
Does it keep tables and code blocks?
Yes. GitHub-flavoured Markdown tables become real tables, fenced code keeps its monospace formatting and indentation, and task lists show their checkboxes. Mermaid diagrams and math are rendered as well.
Can I change the page size and margins?
Choose A4 or Letter above the preview. Margins are preset for printing; the print dialog lets you adjust scale, margins and whether to include backgrounds.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 5 MB of Markdown are accepted, which is far more than a typical document. Very long documents simply take a few seconds longer to render.
Is my Markdown uploaded anywhere?
No. Rendering and PDF export run entirely in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored by GPT Workspace.
